How the countdown works
We count whole days from today to your next birthday. If it's today, you'll get a happy birthday instead. If you were born on February 29, your countdown runs to March 1 in years without a leap day (some people celebrate on February 28 instead).
The most and least common birthdays
In US birth records from 1994 to 2014, September was the busiest month for birthdays and September 9 was the single most common day. The least common, apart from February 29, were holidays: December 25, January 1, December 24 and July 4. Fewer births get scheduled on holidays.
